My name is Kim Hoke and I am in my 17th year of teaching. I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math. I love teaching middle school. Middle school kids are interesting and fun to be around. They are the kids that don't fit in with the little kids, but they don't really fit in with the big kids. They have a lot of character and are trying to find out who they are.
I have wanted to get my master's degree forever, but always had an excuse. The opportunity came this year and I grabbed it. I am in my fourth class at this point and I am loving what I am learning. I won't lie, there are times when I am frustrated and confused and I have to remember it is okay to struggle when you learn. When you struggle, you learn. This is what I tell my students and it is important that I follow what I say.
I am a lover of dogs, reading, and watching reality TV. I enjoy going up to Flagstaff and enjoying the beautiful weather. I like going to the beach and try to go at least once each summer. I am me and I am always trying to make me a better me.
I hope you enjoy my blog. I am new at this, so any advice you have would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kim Hoke
